Privacy policy

Last updated 1 October 2026

The short version. This website asks you for nothing and tracks nobody. There are no forms, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising cookies and no profiling. The one exception is the video on our guide page, which belongs to YouTube and loads only if you press play on it. Everything else that leaves your browser is what any website unavoidably receives in order to send you a page. The detail is below, because the law asks for it and because you are entitled to know exactly what happens.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by Luca Carano, sole trader, VAT number IT04319711208, based in Bologna, Italy. We are the data controller for anything described on this page.

You can reach us at siestadogtv@gmail.com.

What this website collects

Nothing you type, because there is nothing here to type. We do not run a contact form, a newsletter sign-up, a login, a comment section or a shop on this site. We have no way of learning your name, your email address or anything you have not deliberately sent us.

Server logs

This site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like every web host, Cloudflare records standard technical information each time a page is requested: the IP address, the time of the request, the page asked for, the browser and operating system. These records exist to deliver the site, to keep it available and to block attacks.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure and functioning website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use these logs to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything else.

The video on the guide page

Our guide page ends by suggesting one of our videos, and shows it in a player. That player is YouTube's, not ours, and YouTube is Google. We have set it up so that it is dormant until you ask for it: what you see at first is a still picture and a play button, and no YouTube player, cookie or identifier is loaded while it sits there.

The moment you press play, the video is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, Google's own reduced-tracking address for embedded video. From that point you are watching a YouTube video, and Google receives your IP address and the usual technical information, and may store something in your browser in order to play it. What Google does with that is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, not by this page.

There is no banner asking your permission for this, because pressing play is the permission. If you never press it, nothing of YouTube's ever runs. The still picture itself is served from Google's image servers, so loading the page does reveal your IP address to Google in the same way a font or any other external image does.

Legal basis: your consent, given by pressing play (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), and for the still picture our legitimate interest in showing you which video we mean (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Typefaces

The fonts used on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. When a page opens, your browser requests those font files directly from Google's servers, and in doing so Google receives your IP address and the usual request headers. This happens before we can intervene and it is how the page is able to look the way it does.

Google is based in the United States; transfers are covered by its own safeguards. You can read what Google does with that data in the Google Privacy Policy.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in presenting the site as designed (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

What this website does not do

Links to other places

This site links out to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and to paseo.dog. The moment you follow one of those links you are on somebody else's property, under their rules and their privacy policy, not ours. Our channel on YouTube in particular is governed by Google's terms, and watching a video there is a different matter from visiting this page.

How long anything is kept

We keep nothing ourselves. Cloudflare's technical logs are retained by Cloudflare for its own limited periods, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to ask us for access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable form. Given that this site holds nothing about you, in practice there is usually nothing to hand over — but you are welcome to ask, and we will answer.

Write to siestadogtv@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or with the authority of the country where you live.

Children

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If what this site does ever changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top will say when. We will not quietly start collecting something and leave this text as it is.

Siesta is a small independent company in Italy. This page describes, in plain language, exactly what our website does. It is not legal advice, and if your situation requires a formal assessment you should ask a lawyer.
